Yum! will cut small farmers out of supply chain for China-based KFCs

As part of a campaign to restore consumer confidence, Louisville-based Yum! Brands (NYSE: YUM) will no longer use small farm suppliers for its China-based KFC outlets.

In a video report, The Wall Street reports on Yum changes in response to recent news reports of high levels of antibiotics found in chicken sold at KFCs in China.

Those levels aren’t known, the Journal reports, but were said to be “higher than normal” in some chicken.
